Attorney James Giries

My Background & Experience

After serving in the military, I decided to pursue a legal career after my own personal experience with family law. First-hand, I have felt the many emotions and stress that comes with struggling through difficult family situations. While my journey to becoming a lawyer was less than conventional, I am proud to have the knowledge, skills, and experience to help others through their family law matters today.

I am a proud graduate of the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. Upon receiving my law degree in 2003, I worked with a few law firms and under some great attorneys. I learned a lot about the inner workings of the courtroom and how to be a successful trial attorney for individuals and businesses in Texas.

One day, I was sitting in the barber’s chair and making small talk with others. A woman asked me if I could help her through her divorce, and I used that opportunity to move into family law and never looked back.

Starting My Own Family Law Firm

Since 2008, I have owned and operated The Law Office of James Giries. In more than a decade of private practice, I have helped clients through some of the most complex and emotionally troubling legal issues. Many of my clients are apprehensive about the future, and I work hard to help them alleviate stress in order to see that they can find their way to a better tomorrow.

I find that an essential key to moving forward in the right direction, is to not allow yourself to be bogged down by anger, sadness, and regret.
